The presentation of his new songs and the revisiting of classics of the Dolphins
The title of the new work on Fernando Cunha's own name reflects that which has, after all, been the greatest constant of his life: his guitar has in fact touched and much in the last thirty years, having indelibly marked the modern history of Portuguese music, first with the Delfins, a group that was a founding member and with which it debuted in album in 1987, later with the Resistance, collective history of which was also instigador of first hour.
Fernando Cunha was not only a musician of the Delfins: as co-composer of most of the classics of the group and producer of a significant part of his discography, Cunha was effectively responsible, although not unique, for a sonority that achieved great success in our generating some of the greatest classics of our collective songbook, themes that remain alive in the memories of the people and in the playlists of the radios.
Fernando Cunha understands The Guitar To Play as a work of reflection, of looking back to his life, but also as an opportunity to fulfill dreams - such as music poems by Fernando Pessoa, poet who both inspired and guided him, or musicians gather of which I confess admirer. Because it is when the guitar plays that Fernando Cunha best tells us what goes in his soul and in his thoughts. 30 years after the start of the Dolphins, 20 years after his solo debut, it is with A Guitarra A Tocar that Fernando Cunha prepares his future.
