The Belém Art Fest, the Festival of Museums at Night, is going to rob the most emblematic spaces of the city on July 27th and 28th. Marcelo Camelo, Dengue Dengue Dengue and Conan Osiris are the first confirmations for the 7th edition, which over two days will bring together music, art and heritage, in a perfect symbiosis.
Marcelo Camelo works on July 27 at Belém Art Fest, in the incredible Cloister of the Jerónimos Monastery. The Carioca performs solo, in a concert with voice and viola, five years after we last saw him on stage, more concretely at the Tivoli Theater in Lisbon, in the same intimate format that he works so well.
One of the most respected musicians of Brazilian music today, Marcelo Camelo acts after the adventures with Banda do Mar, and record productions, such as the case of "Come" (2018), Mallu Magalhães' last. Accompanied by voice and viola, the author of works such as "Nos / Sou" (2008) and "Toque Dela" (2011) recovers an iconic repertoire that goes not only for his solo career but also for iconic Los Hermanos compositions and even by themes known via Banda do Mar.
It was precisely in 2013 that he presented the documentary "Mormaço" in a year that records the last solo performance. The presence of the composer from Rio de Janeiro in the alignment of Belém Art Fest is one of the most unprecedented motifs that arouses great curiosity in the return to the stage of Marcelo Camelo.
Still on the 27th, but in the Stage of the Museum Berardo act Dengue Dengue Dengue. The Peruvian duo of Tropical Bass, composed by Filipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira will bring directly from Lima their sound experiences immersed in Cumbia Digital, a project always in constant evolution, that explores rhythms and sounds of the world. It is not easy to attribute a specific genre to the duo, but it is certain that thanks to the visual spectacle they bring and the many sonorities involved, the result can only be translated into a party.
On July 28 (Saturday) it is the turn of Conan Osiris to perform on the Stage of the Berardo Museum. Tiago Miranda, name of the composer and producer's birthplace, recently released the first album of "Adoro Bolos" originals, an album that received strong applause from the critics and will now be witnessed live with a concert at the Museum Evening Festival. An experience that promises to be memorable.
Belém, the most important cultural center of the city, will receive for two days a luxury poster with unique concerts in the Cloister of the Jeronimos Monastery, Museu Colecção Berardo, National Archaeological Museum, Picadeiro do Museu dos Coches and still in Jardim do Praça do Empire. It joins to this schedule exhibitions, guided tours at night, street food and crafts.
This initiative is a production of Amazing Adventure in partnership with Everything is New, Directorate General of Cultural Heritage, Berardo Collection Museum, Lisbon City Hall and Belém Parish Council.
